Agriculture 20S - Still working on soil science

We will be continuing on the Soil Science Unit.

Grade 9 Science - Physical & Chemical Changes

We started our new unit on Physical and Chemical Changes. Tomorrow you will be conducting a lab on density of solids regular and irregular shapes, as well as the density of water. You will need to have completed the worksheet on how to read a graduated cylinder by tomorrow.

Bio 40S Finishing off the Unit

We finished off the Biodiversity of Animals Unit today. An assignment was given and we corrected the questions from Wednesday.

ITS - Climate Change

Today we will work on the questions that go with The Inconvenient Truth. Tomorrow we will take them up and then start on Weather vs Climate material.

AG 30S

Today we will finish up our Soil write ups. These must be finished today so a good HARD work period is in order for you. Tomorrow will be a note taking day so be sure to come with some paper and a pen.

Science Grade 9 Test very soon

Today we write our test. Tomorrow we start the new unit on Physical and Chemical Properties of Matter.

Bio 40S Bell Ringer

Today we will be doing our Bell Ringer test on the Sponges to Echinoderms. Tomorrow we will have a video called The Ghost in Your Genes in honour of DNA Day - the day that the structure to DNA was discovered by Watson and Crick.

ITS - Climate Change

Friday we started looking at climate change. We started the video called "The Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. We will finish it up today and then start some questions on the movie. These will need to be completed by Wednesday's class.

Ag-Soil testing

On Thursday and Friday, we tested different types of soils. Today, those that were away on the band trip will do their testing and those that were here will do thier write ups today.

Grade 9 Science - Protons etc

Today we went over a worksheet and then had a video on the Periodic Table. You must have the crossword puzzle c ompleted for tomorrow and then you will work on the study guide for your test which is on Wednesday April 23.

Bio 40S

Today we looked at the Phylum Chordata and the Classes of Agnatha, Chondricthes, and Osteothicthes. Tomorrow we will look at Amphibians, Reptiles and maybe Aves.

Reminder that you have a test up to Echinodermata on Wednesday. It will be a bell ringer test so be sure to read your textbook and notes.

We have just started our new unit on Energy and its Alternatives. Today we will look at the issue of renewable energy. You will have 2 assignments to work on in class which will be due on Thursday for taking up in class.

By now you should also have your Part C done for Alternative use to Fossil Fuels assignment handed in to me.

Agriculture 30S

Exams are over now. Today we will go outside and collect our soil samples so that we can start our unit on Soils.

Over the next few days we will be performing several types of tests on our soils that we collected.

Today we had a quiz on the elements up to As.

We looked at the subatomic particles and were given a worksheet to work on. This worksheet will be taken up tomorrow.

Welcome Back Everyone from Spring Break!!

Today we started a project on economic cars and what the car of the future will be like.
Please remember that there is no mid term exam in this course but that daily assignments must be completed for credit.

This project will likely take about 3 days to complete and will need to be done well. Take your time and discuss with others before you write the final draft.

Today we got started on our open book section to the mid term exam. You will be working on this for Monday to maybe Thursday. It will be part of the Mid Term Exam that you will write on Monday April 14 at 1:15. By doing this guide you will be prepared for the exam.

Today we started on our Chemistry Section. You will need to learn the first 20 element symbols for April 9th so begin today. The cut off for the exam will be on Wednesday.
