Biology 40 Origin of LIfe

Today we discussed the present theories of how life began on Earth.
For those away to Provincial Soccer, you will need to get caught up on the notes from the discussion.

Science 9

Today we discuss the topic of Genetic Technology with a focus on genetic engineering, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, cloning and DNA fingerprinting.

The class was given an assignment on mutations to be ready for Monday. We will take up these questions as well as the Genetic Worksheet and the study guide.

Tuesday there will be a short quiz on this material.

CTS

We are currently watching the video "The Right Stuff" which a history of the early rocket and space travel.

Monday we will be finishing off the "Where will we live" assignment as well as start the History of Space Flight assignment. Both of these are due by Tuesday.

Tuesday we will finish off the video with a discussion at the end.

Biology 40S

Friday we finished off the unit on DNA to Protein Synthesis with the unit test. Today we will carry on with our unit on Classification and Ev0lution.

Science Grade 9

Today we finished off the Sexual Reproduction Unit with the unit test. This will likely be marked and updated marks by the end of the week.

Tomorrow we will be taking up the Punnett Square Worksheet that you got on Friday. We will also be looking at sex-linked traits tomorrow. The next day will be genetic screw ups.

Current Topics in Science

Today we looked at what materials will be needed to survive on Earth and on the Moon. It was decided that the most useless material to take with us on Earth was a space suit but on the Moon we definately needed it the most.

Tomorrow we will finish off the assignment called Where will We Live in Space. Then we will be working on a travel brochure, poster, video, or 3D model of where we have chosen to go.
